WHY WE CAN'T WAIT
WHY WE CAN'T WAIT
Humanity
is an important element of life which triggers us to help others, understand
our infirmity and motivates us to help the human race. When you show humanity, hhhyou have a feel click or a pinch from your inner soul which you cannot get from
something else. Every religion tells us about humanity, peace and love. That is
why no religion is higher than humanity.
But decades after slave trade and the oppressions recorded all
over the world, it's quite appalling to still witness modern slavery and pure
injustices melted down on people of colour. Before every election, all
politicians do promise equality of race and gender, but once in power, they are
always sluggish to pass laws that gives maximum punishment to those involved in
racial killings and rape.
The idea for the painting is inspired by the alarming rate at
which rape and racial killings are recorded all over the world, the lookwarm
attitude of those in government to the plight of the people, and also the
unimaginable response from all frustrated citizens. The painting captures the
emotions of protesters all over the world, vigorously expressing themselves,
looking straight into the storm knowing that we can't wait for others to solve
our problems if we sit idle. The calm recorded in the background shows that we
all can live in a peaceful world filled with love and orderliness.
We are collectively tired of bad governance both in government, religious and
corporate settings. Bad governance is centralized around the idea of not
only corruption within a system but a lack of transparency and accountability,
arbitrary policy making and the cheating of those who are governed. These
are the reason for our protests, and this is WHY WE CAN'T WAIT for another election year before we take action.
